A new season of Indian Hills Track & Field is set to open up this weekend as the Warriors make their debut at the Washburn Alumni Invitationalon the campus of Washburn University, the home of the 2026 NJCAA Indoor National Championship. The Warriors will send a full squad of athletes to kick off the new season.

EWING'S NOTES

Set to begin his eighth season at the helm of the program, head coach Brent Ewing and the Warriors are set for the 2025-26 indoor campaign. "Our staff and student-athletes are incredibly excited to get the season underway. The efforts I've witnessed in practice over the last three months tell me that we have the capability of making this one of our best years yet.

On the men's side, I believe we have what it takes to contend for a top three trophy. We have some incredible depth in the sprints and middle distance and some returning depth in the hurdles as well as some incoming field event athletes who we feel very strongly about. I think our relays will really set the tone. Our depth in the 100-1,500 will set us up to have national title caliber 4x1, 4x4, 4x8 and distance medley relays.

On the ladies side, we're going to see a bit of a new age. Our sprints and sprint relays will continue to be an area of focus, but we have grown our middle distance and distance groups. I'm excited to see our women's cross country success translate into success on the track as well. For the first time ever, we will have a women's 4x8 and distance medley relay that are more than capable of being All-Americans."
