WARRIORS SOAR TO NO. 2 IN USTFCCCA NATIONAL POLL

USTFCCCA TFRI NATIONAL POLL - WEEK 1

Ottumwa, IA – With a number of dominant performances to open up the 2025-26 indoor campaign, the Indian Hills Men's Track & Field squad checked in at No. 2 in the nation in the initial United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), released Tuesday afternoon.

Through five meets to open the new year, the Warriors have cemented themselves as a formidable force across multiple events. In the initial national rankings from the USTFCCCA, Indian Hills boasts the No. 1 event squad in four separate categories – 200-meter dash, 800-meter run, 1000-meter run, and the high jump.

Individually, nine different Warriors rank inside the top-five in the nation in their respective categories, while 22 overall rank inside the top-10.

Freshman Joseph McDonald Jr. (Kingston, NY/Kingston) currently ranks atop the national leaderboards to lead the high jump squad. McDonald's school record mark of 2.15 meters set earlier in the year is tied for the best mark in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) this season.

McDonald, along with fellow freshman Ryan Giberson (Fairfield, IA/Fairfield) and Ousman Saine (Fairfield, IA/Fairfield), have led the high jump group to become the program's first-ever No. 1 nationally ranked jumps squad in Indian Hills history. Giberson currently ranks ninth nationally with a mark of 2.03m while Saine's mark of 1.99m ranks 10th overall.

The jump squad is also aided by freshman Dayton LaMar's (Denmark, IA/Fort Madison) mark of 7.42 meters in the long jump, fifth-best nationally and second all-time in Indian Hills school history.

Defending outdoor national champion Raynier Galvez (Paterson, NY/Passaic County) has continued his remarkable collegiate career into his sophomore campaign. Galvez currently ranks third in the nation in the 800m run with an all-conditions mark of 1:49.69, just 0.56 of the national leader. Galvez also ranks third nationally in the 600-meter run with a mark of 1:17.45 on the year.

Sophomore Izaiah Loveless (Iowa City, IA/Iowa City West) leads the charge in the 200m dash with a time of 21.22 this season, ranked No. 2 in the NJCAA while freshman Devonni Ferguson (Gouyave, Grenada/Grenada Boys' Secondary) ranks third nationally in the 400m with a time of 46.97.

Indian Hills returns to action this weekend at the Washburn Open in Topeka, KS, home to the 2026 NJCAA Indoor National Championship. Action gets underway Friday.
