Topeka, KS – The Indian Hills Men's Track & Field squad brought home a 10th place finish from the 2026 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Indoor National Championships. The Warriors earned six All-American honors, including one relay national title.
Behind a record-breaking performance from the 4x800-meter relay squad, the Warriors collected the program's sixth consecutive top-10 finish at the indoor national championships. Indian Hills boasted four all-time top-10 performances in school history.
The quartet of Evan Beeler (Farragut, TN/Farragut), Brian Kiprop (Eldoret, Kenya/Kingston College), Kohlby Newsom Winfield, IA/Winfield Mt. Union), and Jaquan Coke (Kingston, Jamaica/Kingston College) provided one of the most dominant performances in national history in the 4x800m relay event as the squad cruised to a time of 7:28.52 to earn gold at the national championship. The mark ranks second all-time in NJCAA history, one of just two programs all-time to break 7:29.00. The group shattered the previous Indian Hills record by nearly eight seconds.
Coke, who was also part of the previous school record in the event, earned his third All-American honor during his career at Indian Hills.
Raynier Galvez (Paterson, NJ/Passaic County), the 2025 outdoor national champion in the 800m, garnered three All-American honors in Topeka. The sophomore earned a runner-up finish in the 800m with a time of 1:50.16 in a photo finish. Galvez added a fourth-place finish as part of the Distance Medley Relay squad.
Along with Galvez, Newsom, Kiprop, and James Kokuro (Joliet, IL/Joliet West) posted a time of 9:50.93 in the DMR to earn a spot on the podium and All-American honors.
Galvez was also a part of the third-place finish in the men's 4x400m relay squad that posted a time of 3:09.20. Galvez was joined by teammates Devonni Ferguson (Gouyave, Grenada/Grenada Boys' Secondary), Kemarrio Bygrave (Kingston, Jamaica/Jamaica College), and Kokuro.
The Warriors have now posted All-American finishes in each of the three relay events in back-to-back seasons at the indoor national championships. Indian Hills has also collected All-American finishes in the 4x800m relay event in each of the last seven years.
Bygrave and Ferugson each earned individual All-American honors for the Warriors in their respective events. Bygrave took home a sixth-place showing in the 600m run with a time of 1:18.66 while Ferguson placed sixth overall in the 400m dash with a time of 46.90.
Newsom added a dominant individual performance of his own for the Warriors, posting a ninth-place finish in the 1,000-meter run with the third-fastest time in school history with a mark of 2:25.60.
The Warriors will now turn their attention to the outdoor season, which opens up March 26-27 with the WashU Distance Carnival in St. Louis, MO.
