Former Indian Hills Men's Track & Field standout Justin Walden is set to return to the program as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2025-26 campaign. Walden will assist with the men's sprints program.
A two-year member of the Indian Hills Track & Field squad, Walden returns to the Warriors after a standout collegiate career, both in the classroom and on the track. Walden starred for the Warriors from 2020-22, qualifying seven times for the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Championships while earning All-American honors for the Warriors. Academically, Walden was a two-time member of the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Academic All-Region team.
"Justin Walden brings first-hand experience of what it's like to be a Warrior legend," stated head coach Brent Ewing. "Justin built himself into an ICCAC Athlete of the Year and one of the best sprinters to ever come through our program. He happens to be one of the best people and highest character individuals our program has ever seen as well. His knowledge of the sport and first-hand experience as an IHCC and NCAA D1 athlete will be incredibly valuable for our program."
Walden, who was a five-time NJCAA All-Region 11 selection and was named the 2022 ICCAC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year, completed his collegiate career at the University of North Texas. Walden ran two seasons with the Mean Green, earning All-AAC Third-Team honors in 2024.
"Coming back to Indian Hills is truly a blessing and a full-circle moment," stated Walden. "This is where part of my journey began, where I learned to chase big dreams and put in the work to achieve them. Now, I'm here to help the next generation dream bigger, work harder, and believe they can accomplish anything they set their mind to. I'm ready and excited for what's ahead - let's go Warriors!"
Walden earned an Associate of Arts & Sciences degree from Indian Hills before earning a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology from North Texas.
