Ottumwa, IA – For the eighth time in her Indian Hills Women's Golf career, sophomore Joska Nelis (Haarlem, Netherlands/Lyceum Sancta Maria) has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week.
Nelis powered the Warriors to the team title in their season debut at the Mustang Fall Invitational in Marion, IA over the weekend. Nelis surged on the final day of competition, climbing four spots to finish third overall with a 9-over, 153 to pace the Warriors. As a team, Indian Hills outlasted the 14-team field by four strokes.
Nelis fired round scores of 79-74-153 to finish as the top junior college golfer of the event. Nelis' final round 74 was tied for the second-lowest mark of any individual at the two-day, 36-hole event.
Nelis captured seven ICCAC DI Women's Golf Athlete of the Week honors during her inaugural campaign last season.
Next up for the Warriors is The Velvet Classic in Paducah, KY at the Country Club of Paducah September 15-16.
