WARRIORS SURGE ON FINAL DAY TO PLACE 2ND

Evansville, IN – No. 11 nationally ranked Indian Hills Women's Golf soared on the final day of competition at The Braun Intercollegiate to finish in a tie for second-place overall. The Warriors jumped three spots on the final day to finish with a team score of 50-over, 626.

Competing against primarily NCAA DI programs such as Belmont University, University of Illinois Chicago, and University of Alabama Birmingham, the Warriors posted back-to-back rounds of 25-over, 313 to earn the runner-up finish. The Warriors' tied for the second lowest team round on the final day of competition at Oak Meadow Golf Club.

Sophomore Taylor Pacheco (Chula Vista, CA/Olympian) put together an impressive showing for the Warriors to earn her second-best individual performance throughout her collegiate career by placing seventh overall. Pacheco fired a career-best 2-over, 74 in the opening round, one of just nine individuals in the 68-player field to fire a 74 or better. Pacheco closed out the tournament tied for seventh overall with a 10-over, 154.

Fellow sophomore Poppy Norcott (Wiltshire, United Kingdom/Hartpury College) placed 11th overall for the Warriors with an 11-over, 155 after posting round scores of 78-77 to aid in the Warriors' surge on the final day.

Sophomore Sofia Saavedra (Barquisimeto, Venezuela/Dawere International) shaved off four strokes from her opening round 81 to finish the event with a 77 in round two for the Warriors. Saavedra tied for 17th overall for the Warriors with a 14-over, 158.

Sophomore Joska Nelis (Haarlem, Netherlands/Lyceum Sancta Maria) tied for 24th overall with a 15-over, 159, including a second round 79. Nelis was one of just three individuals to finish even par on all Par 3 holes.

Pacheco starred for the Warriors with her best showing of the 2025 campaign. The sophomore surpassed her previous low round of 75 set in her collegiate debut last year as a freshman. Pacheco tied for a tournament-best with six birdies, one of just four individuals to reach that mark while Norcott tallied four birdies for the Warriors.

Indian Hills will close out its fall campaign with the Tulsa Cup in Broken Arrow, OK October 27-28.
