Owasso, OK – The Indian Hills Women's Golf team opened its spring campaign with an impressive showing at the Hillcat Classic at the Bailey Ranch Golf Course. The Warriors placed third overall in the seven-team field while sophomore Poppy Norcott (Wiltshire, United Kingdom/Hartpury College) took home top medalist honors.
The warriors fired an 81-over, 657 to finish behind first-place Rogers State University (OK) and Redlands Community College (OK). The Warriors shaved off three strokes in the final round to outlast the remainder of the field for the top-three finish.
Norcott powered past the field of 44 individuals to earn the sophomore's first collegiate victory. Norcott fired a 5-over, 149, including a personal-best round of 73 through the first 18 holes of competition. The sophomore has now earned five career top-10 finishes, including four this season.
Norcott's dominant performance began in the opening round with three birdies and the tournament's lone eagle on the par-5 14th hole. Norcott added a birdie in the second round to finish the two-day event tied for the second-most birdies across the field.
The individual title for Norcott is the first for the Warrior program during the 2025-26 campaign.
Fellow sophomore Mackenzie Reeves (Rogers, AR/Heritage Rogers) placed 23rd overall, climbing 13 spots on the day thanks to a 9-over, 81, including a birdie on the par-4 15th hole.
Sophomore Taylor Pacheco (Chula Vista, CA/Olympian) placed 27th overall while Yebin Yun (Sejong, South Korea/Lakota West) and Jade Blakely (St. Michael, Barbados/Rabun Gap Nacoochee), making their Indian Hills debut, tied for 28th overall. Sophomore Sofia Saavedra (Barquisimeto, Venezuela/Dawere International) tied for 31st overall for the Warriors to round out the team scoring.
The Warriors return to action March 27-28 at the Graceland Spring Invitational at the Mozingo Golf Course in Maryville, MO.
