Ottumwa, IA – For the third consecutive time, sophomore Poppy Norcott (Wiltshire, United Kingdom/Hartpury College) of the No. 11 nationally ranked Indian Hills Women's Golf team has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Women's Golf Athlete of the Week, announced by the league office Tuesday.
Norcott secured her second consecutive first-place finish after leading the pack at the Graceland Spring Invitational in Maryville, MO. The sophomore's effort helped lead the Warriors to the program's second team title of the year.
Norcott continued to star for the Warriors with another dominant showing on the links. Norcott fired an opening round 75 before closing out the two-day event with an 86 to outlast the 59-player field by four strokes. Norcott's opening round 75 was the lowest of the tournament.
The sophomore led the way with four birdies while adding an eagle for the second consecutive tournament.
Norcott has now posted eight rounds in the 70's over her last nine rounds of competition with an average round score of 77.0.
