Coal Valley, IL – Coming off the program's first-ever District championship, the Indian Hills Women's Golf team is set for the 2026 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Women's Golf National Championship on Monday.

TEEING OFF

Indian Hills will make the 132-mile trek east to take part in the 2026 NJCAA DI Women's Golf National Championship at Oakwood Country Club in Coal Valley, IL. The four-day, four-round event gets underway Monday morning.

  • The Warriors head to the National Championship after winning the 2026 NJCAA DI Women's Golf Midwest District Championship, the first title in program history.
  • Indian Hills is currently ranked No. 11 in the latest Scoreboard Powered by Clippd national rankings.
  • Sophomore Poppy Norcott claimed medalist honors at the District tournament with a 7-over par.
  • Norcott, who has won three tournaments this year, was tapped as this week's ICCAC DI Women's Golf Athlete of the Week, the sophomore's fourth honor this season.
  • The Warriors have claimed four team titles this year to go along with six top-three finishes.
  • Sophomore Jade Blakeley, who joined the Warriors for the spring season, has posted three top-three individual finishes in the team's last four events.

WARRIORS AT NATIONALS

The Warriors are set to make their second all-time appearance at the National Championship.

  • Indian Hills placed 14th overall in its debut at last year's tournament in Garden City, KS.
  • Poppy Norcott tied for 44th overall at the event.
  • Fellow sophomores Mackenzie Reeves, Taylor Pacheco, and Sofia Saavedra join Norcott this year with National Championship experience after competing at the 2025 event.

SHEDD'S NOTES

"We're really excited about the National Championship this year," stated head coach Michael Shedd. "Carrying our momentum from the District Championship is going to be huge. With it being over in the Quad Cities and having people that know the course, it feels kind of like a home-course advantage. Regardless, it will definitely still be a tough test of golf."

Nestled in the beautiful countryside of Coal Valley, just minutes from the Quad Cities, Oakwood Country Club is an 18-hole Pete Dye-designed championship golf course.

SCOUTING THE FIELD

21 teams will head to Coal Valley with a field of 96 golfers competing at Oakwood Country Club.

  • Odessa College (TX) enterse the tournament ranked No. 1 in the nation with 160.43 average weighted points.
  • Daytona State College (FL), Seminole State College (FL), Blinn College (TX), and Eastern Florida State College round out the top-five nationally ranked teams.
  • Odessa's Napajira Luesattha headlines the field as the No. 1 ranked player in the nation followed by Daytona State's Alana Kutt and McLennan Community College's (TX) Aalyiah Hryniewiecka-Irwin.
  • Odessa took home the 2025 National Championship followed by Seminole State and Daytona State.
