DURAN SHINES IN DEBUT TO LEAD WARRIORS

Ashland, NE – Making her collegiate debut at the 2025 Platte River Rumble Gold, freshman Rebecca Duran (El Paso, TX/Chapin) paced the No. 12 Indian Hills Women's Cross Country team with a 53rd place finish at Mahoney State Park. As a team, the Warriors placed ninth overall.

Duran clocked in with a time of 19:07.3 to lead the Warrior women on Friday night as the freshman posted the fourth-fastest 5k time in program history. Duran was the fifth junior college athlete to cross the finish line in the 100 athlete field.

Sophomore standout Tiffani Koonce (Prairie City, IA/Prairie City-Monroe) crossed the line in 58th place for the Warriors with a time of 19:16.1. Koonce cut off nearly 50 full seconds from her freshman performance at the 2024 Platte River Rumble on the same course.

Freshman Cindy Rose (Brown's Town, Jamaica/Holmwood Technical) checked in right behind Koonce in 59th place with a time of 9:17.8 to round out the top-three for the Warriors. Claire Hayward (Eddyville, IA/Eddyville Blakesburg Fremont) and Shmyhia Morris (Memphis, TN/Whitehaven) rounded out the team scoring while freshman Abby George (Albia, IA/Albia) made her collegiate debut on the course for the Warriors.

Indian Hills is back in action Friday, September 19 for the Bradley Intercollegiate at Detweiller Park in Peoria, IL.
