INDIAN HILLS HY-VEE STUDENT-ATHLETES OF THE MONTH

Ottumwa, IA – Sophomores Arnicka Louis (Castries, Saint Lucia/Sir Ira Simmons) of the Indian Hills Women's Soccer team and Bailey Taig (Perth, Western Australia/Quinn's Baptist College) of the Indian Hills Men's Cross Country squad have been named the Indian Hills Hy-Vee Student-Athletes of the Month for the month of October.

Louis continued a remarkable career throughout the month of October with a number of impressive performances. In eight matches during October, Louis tallied 10 goals and five assists for 25 points. The sophomore tallied her first-career hat trick in a 4-0 win over Iowa Central Community College on October 7 and added a pair of two-goal performances against Wabash Valley Community College on October 3 and No. 6 Iowa Western Community College on October 17.

Louis climbed the all-time record books at Indian Hills throughout October. Louis now ranks fourth all-time with 31 career goals and third all-time with 81 career points over the past two seasons. Louis ranks in the top-10 in school history in seven different categories.

Louis also ranks fifth in the nation this yaer with 20 goals and 50 points on the year.

As a freshman, Louis was named to the 2025 Spring ICCAC Academic All-Region Second-Team and was a member of the NJCAA Academic Team of the Year.

The Warriors await an at-large bid to the upcoming national touranment after posting a 13-3-1 overall record on the year.

Taig put together one of the top performances of his Indian Hills career by winning the Indian Hills Invitational on October 10. Taig cruised past the field of 69 runners with a time of 24:51.31 to win the meet by over 26 seconds.

Taig added a top-10 individual finish at the Missouri Western Griffon Invite by placing fifth overall on October 4 with a time of 25:48.59, the top junior college finisher in the event.

The sophomore wrapped up the month of October with a top-20 individual finish at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 11 Championships.

As a freshman, Taig was twice named to the ICCAC Academic All-Region Team, including first-team honors in the fall semester.

Taig and the Warriors will now head to Fort Dodge, IA for the 2025 NJCAA DI Men's Cross Country Championship on November 8.


Each month, with the support of the local Ottumwa Hy-Vee, the Indian Hills Athletic Department selects a male and female student-athlete of the month based on their academic and athletic performances throughout the previous month.
