INDIAN HILLS HY-VEE STUDENT-ATHLETES OF THE MONTH

Ottumwa, IA – Sophomores Asialin Powell (Des Moines, IA/Roosevelt) of the Indian Hills Volleyball team and Vittorio Bellesi (Breno, Italy/Olivelli Putelli) of the Indian Hills Men's Soccer team have been named the Indian Hills Hy-Vee Student-Athletes of the Month for the month of November.

Powell wrapped up a stellar two-year career with the Warriors after leading the program to its fourth consecutive national tournament. For her efforts, Powell was named the 2025 Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Volleyball Player of the Year.

Powell was a force on the defensive front all year for the Warriors. The sophomore, who has missed just three sets out of a possible 261 sets over the past two seasons, ranked fifth in the nation in total digs (635) and fifth nationally with 5.57 digs/set. Powell led the ICCAC by a wide margin in each category.

The sophomore was twice named the NJCAA DI Volleyball National Defensive Player of the Week and was a five-time ICCAC DI Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week. Powell capped her 2025 season with the fifth-most digs in a single season in school history.

A psychology major, Powell was named to the NJCAA All-Academic Second-Team (3.8-3.99 GPA) as a freshman and was twice named to the ICCAC Academic All-Region First-Team (3.5-4.0 GPA).

Bellesi helped guide the men's soccer squad to its first national championship in November, winning the 2025 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Soccer title in Daytona Beach, FL. A sophomore captain for the Warriors, Bellesi was selected to the NJCAA All-Tournament team for his efforts on the defensive front that posted a shutout in the national championship match.

Bellesi was selected to the NJCAA All-Region 11 First-Team earlier in the month after anchoring the defense throughout the duration of the 2025 campaign. The sophomore concludes his Indian Hills career with 28 victories and was a member of the first sophomore class in school history to reach consecutive national semifinal rounds at the NJCAA DI Men's Soccer Tournament.

As a freshman, Bellesi was selected to the NJCAA All-Academic Third-Team (3.6-3.79 GPA) and was twice named to the ICCAC Academic All-Region First-Team (3.5-4.0 GPA).
