Ottumwa, IA – For the fourth consecutive season, Indian Hills Volleyball Head Coach Lyndsey Michel has been tapped as the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Volleyball Coach of the Year, announced by the conference office Thursday.
Michel collects her fifth ICCAC Coach of the Year honor, and fourth in a row after leading the Warriors to their fourth consecutive National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Volleyball Midwest A District Championship and a spot in the upcoming national tournament. Michel has now been named the ICCAC Coach of the Year in 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, and 2019. The five ICCAC Coach of the Year honors are now the most in conference history.
Under the direction of Michel, Indian Hills punched its ticket to the NJCAA DI Volleyball National Championship for the fourth consecutive year after sweeping through the bracket of the NJCAA DI Volleyball Midwest A District Tournament in Mattoon, IL. The Warriors earned the No. 16 overall seed in the upcoming national tournament, set to get underway in Clarksville, TN November 19.
In addition to Michel's honor, four members of the Warriors were named to the NJCAA All-Region 11 First-Team while sophomore Asialin Powell (Des Moines, IA/Roosevelt) was named the ICCAC Player of the Year.

Michel led the Warriors to a 25-8 overall record on the year, including a perfect 3-0 mark in the ICCAC to clinch the regular season title. Michel was now led the program to at least 25 wins in a season 10 times in her 14 years at the helm. The Warriors also posted a perfect 7-0 mark at the Hellyer Center for the third time in the last four seasons and have now won 34 of their last 35 contests on their home court.
The Warriors wrapped up the regular season ranked No. 17 in the finall national poll and were ranked in the top-20 in the nation in 10 of the 11 polls on the year.
As a program, the Warriors consistently ranked near the top of the national leaderboards in a number of statistical categories throughout the year. Indian Hills ranked 10th in the NJCAA in total service aces with 262 and ninth nationally with 16.91 digs/set. Indian Hills ranked 13th across the country in total points per set at 16.7 and 13th overall with 12.60 kills/set.
Indian Hills will now look to earn its fourth consecutive top-10 finish at the national tournament as the Warriors have earned at least one upset victory in each of the last two national tournaments.
The Warriors are now set to compete at the NJCAA DI Volleyball National Championship for the fourth consecutive year. Indian Hills earned the No. 16 overall seed in the tournament and will take on No. 1 seed Miami Dade College (FL) at 4:00 PM on November 19 in Clarksville, TN.
